Wildcat View Group Camp in Tilden Park

February 12-13, 2005

WHAT:  An opportunity for Webelos and friends to experience a taste of life as a Boy Scout (and for their parents too!)   Here are a few of the activities:

• Set-up own tent and campsite

• Pioneering & Lashings

• Cooking demonstrations

• Dinner & Breakfast preparation

• Campfire

• Games

WHERE: Wildcat View Camp (Group campsite) in Tilden Park.

WHEN:
Arrive at the Troop 88 clubhouse (381 Magellan Street

San Francisco) at 7:30 AM, Saturday to pack patrol gear, and set car assignments.  We will head out by 8:30.
Depart Sunday around 11:30 AM to return to the clubhouse by about 12:30PM

BRING: backpack, warm sleeping bag and pad, good hiking boots, and a warm jacket.   See our website http://www.T88SF.org for a list of essential backpacking items and a link to the Tilden Park website.

Water will be available at the campsite, but bring water containers for cooking and personal use.

ADVANCEMENT:  This trip offers an opportunity for Webelos on the way to their Arrow of Light, and for Boy Scouts for leadership and advancement opportunities, especially those on the trail to First Class.  The campout will provide not only an excellent opportunity to complete some of the cooking requirements, but to show off some advanced menu selection and cooking skills.
