WINTER AWARENESS
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2003
CANYON MIDDLE SCHOOL
CASTRO VALLEY
The Annual Winter Camp Awareness
Seminar, put on by the Order of the Arrow (youth members teach the classes) will be held
at Canyon Middle School in Castro Valley on Saturday, December 6, from 9 AM to 2 PM. We will leave the Clubhouse at 7:30 AM to
arrive between 8 and 8:30 for registration.
Troop 88 OA members may be teaching! The classes cover clothing, hypothermia, sleeping warm, stoves and fuel, tents and terrain, first aid and winter food, and are interesting and well presented. If you (scouts AND adults) have not attended this seminar TWICE (yes, you need to attend at least twice to absorb the information) you should go. All new Scouts: attendance is a prerequisite to your going on any winter campout, especially the Klondike Derby. This is really important information concerning your comfort and safety.
The
Troop will pay the $7 cost for the Seminar. Please
bring $2 for the famous OA-supplied hot dog+soda+chips lunch.
BRING/WEAR:
All Scouts must be in Uniform.
